Amos: The Nobody from Nowhere: Chapter 1 Amos 1:1-10 If there is one lesson that we should all learn from the Book of Amos, it is that repentance is a wonderful thing. To be forgiven of sin, is to have our sins washed away forever, “..as far as the east is from the west, our transgressions are removed from us”, the Scriptures tell us (Psalm 103:12). Conversely, to have unconfessed and unrepentant sin in our lives is disastrous for us. For to those who refuse to acknowledge their own sin and neglect the opportunity to receive God’s mercies, a record of sin is most definitely kept. And it is by this recording that all who refuse to humble themselves will be judged.
