“The Struggle is Real”
Romans 7:14-25
As we have stated earlier, legalism, the belief that by working through our own strength we can
please God, is a destroyer of churches. So many Christians mistakenly believe that after they have been
saved by grace, it is then left up to them to live according to God’s commands. This, in turn, produces a
strict rules-oriented type of person, with an overinflated self-image, who tends to undervalue those around
them. On the outside, the legalist appears to have it all together, but on the inside, if they were
completely honest about it, they are miserable.
