Letters From A Fisherman
(Week 21 )2 Peter 1:1-9
“Final Thoughts”
In a world filled with sin, persecution, and chaos, good leaders are important. And in Peter’s day, as Nero’s malevolent attacks were being brought to bear against the church, to have good, steady hands at the helm was an absolute necessity. For where there is no good shepherd, the sheep are scattered. God cares deeply about His flock, and therefore, He sees to it that men are called to oversee their care. God will honor the faithful pastor who puts the needs of the flock above his own. And conversely, He is not pleased when the flock is left out in the cold with no one to watch over it. Jesus’ heart was broken at the condition of Israel as He went about healing and teaching.
